Thinking about being self employed.

Hi everyone,
At the moment I'm studying level 3 advanced bookkeeping and I was actually thinking of becoming self employed and being a blogger as well as buying and selling things on the internet. I think it would be a good thing to put my current studying into practice because I sometimes wonder if all the theoretical stuff is sinking in and I'm not having much look applying for related finance jobs.
I was wondering if any other students were doing anything similar and if so any tips would be grateful on accounting software you were using and how you were coping.
