MIP after working in industry

Hi,

I completed AAT a few years ago through self study which gave me the opportunity to land a role as a management accountant in industry. I loved the job initially, but over the years I've become increasingly disillusioned by the workplace and the long hours. I think my biggest bugbear is spending hours creating/ updating reports that get sent off to management and I hear nothing of them.

My workplace has sponsored me to do ACCA and i've been a student member for 2 years. In that time i've passed 1 exam - I think that's a good indicator that I don't want to do it.

I'm thinking now I need a change in order to feel more fulfilled in my career and I'm considering MIP.

Is there anyone on here that's made a career move from industry to self employed MIP with any advice?

I'm aware it's a huge leap and a totally different ball game, so i'm not considering this lightly. I'm considering the ATT qualification but beyond that I can't think of anything else to be more prepared.

Should I try to move to a role in practice first?
