Can you have 2 separate trades running under one limited company?

I have a client who is currently a vat registered sole trader and runs a bike racing business which always makes a loss and he has now started working as an electrical engineer as well and makes a large profit. It makes sense for him now to be a limited company but I wasn't sure whether both businesses could be under the one umbrella
