Hi,
For online accounting firms that offer services to people not in their local area, and therefore don’t meet their clients face to face, how do they conduct customer due diligence? What additional checks do they carry out? Aren’t accountants supposed to meet their clients face to face??

I do clearance letter with previous accountant plus ID checks.0

I ask the client to send through their usual ID checks etc and then request a facetime call to make sure that the face matches the picture etc.1
