Charity accounting

I have been asked if I would do the accounts for a Charity that was formally a CIC. My understanding is that they will cease trading as a CIC on an agreed date and all the assets will transfer to the charity. I am unsure how I will bring these assets into the accounting system. Also when processing the end of year accounts ready for an independent examination do I still have to account for the previous year income and expenditure, where it used to be a CIC or do I treat it as a completely new charity with no previous years comparisons.
