Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
Totally agree, in and finished by 10.30 - just hope it is all correct and got a pass. Think I might have bodged up DFS yesterday, altho am worried as most people think it was ok.......

Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
it was a bit too easy and it did unnerve me slightly.
also i know we cant talk about actual details so i will be vague... but there was a task about restrictions and it threw me... certainly wasnt what i expected and also others in the room said the same thing after...
this is vague isnt it? sorry i cant be more specific otherwise my post will be deleted by Paul..!!

Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
Hmm, it's come up in a lot of past papers, so didn't really surprise me.0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
i know it has come up before, but an outcome like it hasnt.....

Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
I found the paper easy but this was due to hard work and revision. Like most of us, i prefered this paper to monday's PEV.
Hope it went well for everyone and will be looking in the forum tommorow to see the likely answers.
:P0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
I agree, in paper 1, without giving too much away, i had not seen that come up in any other paper. The outcome I mean...0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
Again without saying too much, do you think the last two questions on section 2 carried many marks. I explained the first two parts but gave a completely different definition for the capital budget.0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
I found it quite good. (yes it unnerved me to!)
Seemed very similar to past papers.
Don't understand the post about restrictions!?

Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
yes... section 1 of todays PCR you mean?
gosh this is all very "cloak and dagger"....!!
just as long as you agree with me that it hasnt been seen in any past papers, we are on the same level
<secret hand shake>
:P0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
I wouldn't have thought so, most of my course could only answer the definition part. We hadn't even looked at them in class!0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
ive never seen anything about capital budgets before so must have skipped through that section of my books...!
made it up, blagged a bit, drawn in knowledge from ECR (intermediate)
i think its self explanitory but then again i may be wrong
<double secret handshake> :P :P0 -

Exactly what I did apart from I just didn't bother writing anything about the capital budget :roll:0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
I agree we have never had a scenario like 1.2 in the past papers. i never answered it like the past papers either. please someone else tell me they did it different too ?0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
If you read the question carefully, it said "show whether there is any restriction". This could of meant that there either is or isn't!
Did you get the final variance to be 785(F)?

Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
i did it different to any past papers ive looked at, and any practice questions ive got in my book.
it made me question whether i had calculated it correcltly so i left it, finished the paper and went back to it
what is it about tasks 1.2 in these darn papers!! :roll:0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
yes i got that variance
i think...
it sounds familiar anyway :-D0 -

What was task 1.2?0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
the limitations0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
thats what I thought, since I did't get a limiting factor. So I had to re-read the question and see if there has to be one or there might be one.
Anyway. Goodluck and lets relax and watch England thrash Trindad and Tobago. Bring it on!!!!!!!0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
I got that variance too. my 1.2 was quite a long answer so i may have got it wrong, but the question stated that there were a few problems so i re done my working. i think i had a limiting factor in labiur. did anyone else ?0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
nope
no limiting factor
COME ON ENGLAND COME ON ENGLAND

Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
Oh no i dont believe it. why did it say recomend how the new orders could be met then ??0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
it didnt it said make recomendations
one of mine was to sack three people!!

Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
Yea my limiting factor was labour,
My hours available were 17x35x5 = 2975 plus overtime of 17x18 = 1360, total hours available of 4335!
But I had already used 4305 in te original budget of production so therefore only had a capacity remaining of 30 hours, any1 else get this? As it relates to the 3 people off sick0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
i got labour as limiting factor. i got 4655 needed and only 4335 available. i have probably got it wrong oh well... i will be back to resit.0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
erm
did you multiply your hours or divide them?
you should have divided them0 -
Re:PCR - wasn't too bad
There must have been a limiting factor, as the question following said "recommend how to reach the new production budget" if there was no limiting factors then no recommendations would have to be made, surely people got this??0 -

1400 units needed, can produce 7 an hour
1400/7 = 200 hours needed
cant remember the other one0
