I've never had a problem with this before, but I've written off to 3 new client's previous accountants, all over 2 weeks ago, and am still waiting for replies.
Is it cheeky to send reminders?

Re:Clearance letters
Hi Jodie,
Personally, if I had been waiting that long I would send a polite reminder. They should come back to you with a response and its not really fair to make you wait. However it could just be that they are all exceptionally busy?!?

It might be worth phoning them, there may be a reason why they're not replying i.e. outstanding fees etc.

Re:Clearance letters
2 weeks is certainly enough time to warrent a follow up. I would tend to telephone too.

I would perhaps wait another week - it has been holiday time and bank holidays etc, so they might just be getting the info together for you.

Re:Clearance letters
Very good point Claudia. I really must stop working 8 days a week!

Re:Clearance letters
thanks for your replies, i'll give them the benefit of the doubt & wait another few days, i'm just worried that the longer i wait the nastier i'll be when i do chase them up!
do you think that if you work 8 day weeks that you get an extra day's holiday when/if you take a week off?

Re:Clearance letters
Just thought I'd share... I've today received a reply to one of the letters - 7 months after I sent it (and despite 2 reminders)!!!
Luckily it appears there's 'no professional reason why I shouldn't act' for this client. Good thing as his return was filed 6 months ago!
