What did everyone think of the Brit awards last night?
I can't believe Lily Allen won nothing, she deserved to win Best British Female.
I thought Oasis were amazing, shame the Scissor Sisters had to perform.

Re:BRIT awards
Lily Allen?????? You rate her????
Its like listening to Nursery Rhymes!0 -
Re:BRIT awards
I never said I rated her, but I think shes different, and deserved one out of her four nominations. Glad to see the Killers won an award though.
What bands you like?0 -
Re:BRIT awards
Out of that lot I would have picked Muse, Razorlight, Dylan, Kooks. Cant pick many more. Arctic Monkeys are toss :shock:0 -
Re:BRIT awards
I hate Muse, really can't see what the fuss is about. You not like Oasis?
Arctic Monkeys just seem a bit manufactured to me0 -
Re:BRIT awards
Yeah I got into Oasis really late, as in two years ago. I always liked their singles, but never gave them any time. I was more into grunge and punk through school. There is just something about Muse for me. Im a massive Radiohead fan though having seen them last year at V, I bought the back catalogue, and I cant get it off my IPOD since August!
How about you?0 -
Re:BRIT awards
Erm I'm a big Killers fan, went to see them live. I've liked Oasis since I was really young, always wanted to see them live, and newer bands like the Kooks aswell.
Never really listened to Radiohead0 -
Re:BRIT awards
I hadnt really, I just got into them massively after last summer.
How old are you then? What bands were around when you went through school. Mine was all Nirvana (fave band bar none) Greenday, offspring, rancid, silverchair, Korn, Sepultura and many more!0 -

Re:BRIT awards
Amazing. What other bands you into? I got the reading 92 nirvana show on dvd the other week, blew me away!0 -
Re:BRIT awards
I'm 18  so the bands that are around now, I only left school last year. I'm a bit of a nipper0 -
Re:BRIT awards
Mostly Nirvana (god this brings back my Doc Marten wearing day memories!
) and Silverchair (how anyone can't like Silverchair is beyond me !) and I did like Offspring.
Nothing like the music of the late 90's grunge

Re:BRIT awards
Silverchair were amazing, I remember them supporting Machine Head (Which I never understood, wrong way round to me) but I missed the gig. Saw Offspring in 1997, my first gig, they were awesome. That was before they went on to pop stuff, a week after Mr Holland lost his dreads!! Great days!!0 -
Re:BRIT awards
I can't believe amy the werewolf whinehouse won something  and I don't like Lily Allen
I was so proud of Joss Stone for her mention to Robbie
I used to live on the same street as robbie williams
then we moved and he bought a house for his mum around the corner  then we moved down to devon and he bought a house in combe martin  I think he got a bit lost moving to america though...
The chillis last night were amazing
I like Nirvana, Offspring, Queens of the Stoneage etc but Kurt Cobain must be the best person who ever walked this planet. Oasis were good in the 90's but not so good anymore... *thinking I'm gonna get slaughtered for that*0 -
Re:BRIT awards
Cool
But I do also like Orson, the feeling, alishas attic, aretha franklin, stevie wonder, the sugababes, bonnie tyler, the spice girls, classical music and loads loads loads more
I'm not sad. :P0 -
Re:BRIT awards
Lily Allen should have won something, she has quite a large following, even if some of her songs are abit strange.
Paolo Nutini should have won British Solo though, he is a brilliant artist and the kooks where unlucky on breakthrough act, i personally think they are better than the fratellis but i didnt choose who won so cant complain really and Fill My little world is loads better than Patience i cant believe the Feeling werent nominated for more awards really0 -
Re:BRIT awards
Yeah, to think the Kooks, the Feeling, Lily Allen or Paolo Nutini won nothing is quite bad, as I think they all deserved awards.
Who does choose the winners, a panel of judges?0 -
Re:BRIT awards
Erm the best breakthrough for like koooks and fratellis was radio one listeners but i didnt vote, should have really nevermind, the single for patience was a live public vote and im not sure on the others i think its various things. It might be ALL public vote just no one hears about it until its too late lol

Re:BRIT awards
We cannot complain about the public votes then, they reflect public opinion.
But the ones that are voted by fat cat directors in suits we can contest

Re:BRIT awards
Personally I think Lily Allen sucks... but I'm just one person 8)
I agree that Patience shouldn't have been best single, I think it should have been the feeling too.0 -
Re:BRIT awards
I couldnt pick between them two really, think they are both shocking0 -
Re:BRIT awards
how is the feeling shocking?
i love that album, especially Rose that is a brilliant song, but i think my best album at the minute is definately the view hats off to the busker man
Then Just Jacks is a close second

Re:BRIT awards
Because they are just boring middle of the road. They are not going to change their outlook much in my opinion, and probably dont have much more inspiration to offer any contribution to future change.
Now look at Razorlights transition from Up all night, to the last album. Thats a band with character that interests me, plus the music doesnt get boring after three or four listens0 -
Re:BRIT awards
I love 'Helicopter' on the Feelings album.
I can't wait til I marry Robbie Williams
Gem
p.s Paul did you do anything at all for Valentines last night? My boyfriend cooked a nice meal but then we had a tiny argument and he threw it away! So we ended up having beans on toast
I think all of my valentines in the future are going to be much like this one

Re:BRIT awards

Re:BRIT awards
Its alright for you lot
My girlfriend was workin in a school from 9 - 3, i was at college 9 - 4 and she was workin 4 - 8 at her proper job, by the time she got home she would have been far too tired and we live like 10 miles from each other so its not as easy as walking round the corner, so i spent Valentines day alone
