Another query on Sage

Hi
Forgive me if this has been brought up before, I have trawled through the searches but cannot find anything relating to my problem.
I have Sage Line 50 V12 and my client has Sage Line 50 V13.01.
I am having problems transfering data to my Sage, it will restore but when I go into suppliers there is nothing there apart from a few unreadable lines.
The nominal and bank are fine.
As I've never restored from a later version to an earlier version before, my question is can it be done?
I know V13 had some glitches which my client has encountered so perhaps this could be the problem?
Many thanks
Sharon

Re:Another query on Sage
The usual answer is that you can transfer 'forwards' but not 'backwards' I'm afraid - sometimes it works most of the time it doesn't.
And yes there are still some lovely glitches with V13 - why will they never leave it alone?0 -
Re:Another query on Sage
Hi Sharon
Yes, Gill is right. You can only go forwards not backwards in Sage.
To get round this, I have now got two different versions of Sage (12 and 13) installed on my computer
I sounds as though you might have to buy V13

Thanks Gill & Claudia.
You've confirmed my worst fear about upgrading to V13!!
My client's software has lots of recurring entries which appears to be one of the glitches and is going to be a nightmare to sort!

Most of the glitches have been sorted now, and I am even beginning to like some elements of it

Re:Another query on Sage
Hi
Are you going to be making the adjustments in Sage or are you creating journals for your clients to make the adjustments?
You could always ask your Client to export the data to Excel using the Sage Intergrated Reporting facility. I've started using it recently and found it very useful for viewing Sage reports, in fact I sometime use that instead of viewing the reports through Sage as the additional facilities within Excel can be very useful.0 -
Re:Another query on Sage
Hi Sue
I'll be making the adjustments through Sage myself.
Thanks for the tip though as it looks like I'm going to have to go through things with a fine toothcombe.
Is the Sage Intergrated reporting facility different from exporting as a csv file to excel?

Re:Another query on Sage
Hi Sharon
I'm sure you know this anyway, but I take it your client won't be posting transactions at the same time, unless you have Sage Client Manager?
Yes, there is a difference with using the Sage Intergrated reporting, I found it a lot more user friendly!!!

Thanks Sue
I'll give the intergrated reporting a go
