Re:Study Buddy
Hi all
I'll join in the Anti-Chubby Study Buddies programme. I suspect that at 15st 10lb I'm one of the heavier ones.
I used to do 'BodyPump' twice a week, Pilates or Yoga once a week and kickboxing once a week, all before work. With the new office, that's no longer possible. I havent been exercising as much (read 'hardly at all') this last year; and eating junk at work so I've put on 3 stone.
My breakfast: shreddies in summer or porridge in winter (not with salt :P ) and strong white coffee.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
3 stone?
:shock:0 -
Re:Study Buddy
At Easter 2006, I weighed 13st 0lbs. This morning, I weighed 15st 10lbs.
There are many reasons, including (but not limited to)- less exercise, chocolate/biscuits, medication messing up my hunger response and digestion, comfort eating... basically just weak willpower on my part.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
You will shift that. Do you drink much?
How old are you?0 -
Re:Study Buddy
How much do I drink? Very little. Maybe two pints (of IPA usually) a month.
And I'm twenty-three.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
At 54 I'm about 2 lbs lighter than you and, like you, I still need to shift at least 2 stone. Plenty of salads, no junk and plenty of walking. And I don't drink0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Try eating no more than 5 breads a days (this includes potato, rice and cereal as a portion) No added sugar and no more than 3 meals. Eat 5 fruits a day to. Your 23 same age as me, youll shift it no problem mate.0 -

My Dietician says little and often( I think she meant food)
She also advised at lunchtime, if you have the time, go for a brisk 15-20 min walk and then eat your lunch, it burns the calories faster. If you must nibble between meals (tempting in offices) nibble fruit. Bring in a box of chopped, prepared fruit/veg to nibble on. This also helps to break the ciggie habit. 0 -
Re:Study Buddy
My smoking only when drinking is great, havent had a cig since wednesday evening. And Im not bothered because I know I can have one tonight or tomorrow.
FG - Did you really need a dietician to tell you that stuff though?0 -

Thanks, but I know how to lose weight. In theory. Its actually doing it that's the problem. I'm a very weak-willed person, and I do turn to food when stressed/unhappy/angry/etc. I know I shouldn't, but that doesn't make it any easier to do.0 -

No. It is part of the support offered after heart attacks and being diagnosed type 2 diabetic. This happened to me on Mar 23 last year.
A result of the best part of 40 years smoking, drinking and little exercise. So no excuses, get on with the weight loss because what you do now lays the building blocks for the future and you don't want to end up a knackered old goat farmer like me, now do you?
Oh, and I'll keep you posted on my weight loss as well. See who gets there first0 -

Is it just me, or is the 'hug in a mug' blue furry arm monster thing more disturbing than comforting?0 -
