Re:Study Buddy
Nice one H!!
Im going to start that running programme one of the nights too though!0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I've done enough exercise to last me a life time, I dont ever want to do it again :P sure I'll ride the horses once a week and I'll play netball in the winter, but that way it doesnt feel lke exercise so it's much more enjoyable. I hate running and working out like that.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Find something you enjoy then. Its like squash for me, I could play every night of the week, I just love playing it, its no effort to go and play! Its good for you to exercise!
Do you drink and smoke?0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I drink occassionally but I dont smoke. And when I say I drink occassionally I'll drink like 2 units every 2 weeks, if that.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
See I eat and smoke and drink what U like most the time, so I really feel like I should exercise to make up for it! But I enjoy it most the time.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
See, so I dont need to exercise :P
Anyway I've got a 2 pack so I obviously do some sort of exercise :P

Re:Study Buddy
Yeah but you can have fatty deposits around your organs that you cant see, we are designed to exercise and be active.0 -
Re:Study BuddyPaul22 wrote:Yeah but you can have fatty deposits around your organs that you cant see
It's called cellulite :P
It's not like I don't do anything. I walk home from the bus stop some days which is 3 and a half miles, I ride the horses for an hour each once a week, I'll walk the dogs for a couple of hours once or twice a week, I don't just sit on my ass all the time :P0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Puts me to shame! I play Badminton for an hour a week and walk home from work most days, but thats about it! :oops:0 -

But thats probably enough. The average adult is supposed to do 20mins of exercise 3 times a week, which isn't a lot at all really0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Im trying at the moment to run three times a week, and play squash at least once. Then I just do press ups and sit ups before my shower after running.0 -

Re:Study Buddy
Thats an average though, which obviously takes into account old adults. Young people can get away with much more than that.
Gem, 50 - 60 of each at the moment0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Wimp :P
I do 100 crunches and 100 sit ups every night0 -
Re:Study Buddy
After going running? Do you mean you intersperse each sit up with a crunchie bar?

Re:Study Buddy
Nah just before I go bed0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I got a GP referral for the local gym when I went for my checkup this morning, so I've no excuses now :?0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Eurgh I hate the gym. I'm always so self concious.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Do you do them right though Gem, because you can give yourself a pot belly if you do them wrong.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Well I dont have a pot belly so I must be :P :?0 -
Re:Study Buddy
How can you do them wrong? :?0 -
Re:Study Buddy
You should do them so in effect you pull yourself up with your stomach muscles. If you dont keep your stomach flat, and pull yourself up with your arma / legs, you can develop a pot belly. Basically as long as you 'push your stomach down into the floor' you cant go wrong!0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Ahhh... that mus be why I have a pot belly0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Yeah, its all about sit up technique, not beer and bacon sarnies

Re:Study Buddy
I see. That makes sense I suppose. I always put my hands into fists and sort of put them to my head with my elbows pointing right out - that way I definately don't pull myself up by my arms. But sometimes I find if I use my abdo board I use my legs, thats why I prefer the floor.0
