    Start buying boring stuff like washing up liquid, bleach etc. When you need to buy everything in one hit, it is expensive.

    Don't buy anything which isn't necessary - like furniture polish.

    I also saved loads of food and stuff up before I moved into my new home but you will also be surprised at what people will give you once they know you have a new home

    I have been trying to get on to the forum for about 2 weeks and today they sorted me out, so its good to be here.

    and as for getting stuff, when we moved in we had 3 sets of sofas because we didnt have the heart to turn people down!!
