Re:Cucumbers
Sorry, Baggy, but cucumbers are a bit like bananas, they don't like growing straight. Anyway, they look better for having that slight curve.
Apparently it does upset people in Brussels, they are trying to issue an EU directive to force farmers to put their cucumbers in a brace to make them grow straight!
I not putting mine in a brace just to satisfy unelected officials! :P0 -

Re:Cucumbers
But what about the "olde englishe" cucumber? That is more like a small apple or a small capsicum(pepper), how are you going to put that into a tube? Would it come out looking more like a chilli?0 -
Re:Cucumbers
Maybe, but I've often heard that you don't need size for it to hit all the right spots... :oops:farmergiles wrote:Would it come out looking more like a chilli?

Haven't tried growing those. I did see a gadget that let the cucumbers grow in a long square tube - perfect for sandwiches.0 -
Re:Cucumbers
Wot, and then grow square tomatoes as well?

Re:Cucumbers

Re:Cucumbers
What if you have a round milk loaf or a bloomer?0 -

Re:Cucumbers

Re:Cucumbers
Last time we were up in Scotland when we asked for sausage we were asked did we want links. I asked what was the alternative and the girl pointed to these dried up squares of sausagemeat. We've visited Scotland for years and never come across it before.square sausage
Sorry Helen, I've pinched your thread!
And why not square boiled eggs while you're at it - I'm sure there used to be some sort of mould you put them in - once they were boiled, of courseWot, and then grow square tomatoes as well?

Re:Cucumbers
Is there nothing we can do to bring it back to life? Try blowing on it, that might do the trick.0 -
Re:Cucumbers
You could try gentle massage

Well we almost made it to the end of page two of a thread about cucumbers without any smut or innuendo. Almost.0 -
