8,800 people hurt themselves whilst using toothpicks every year.

Dolphins always sleep with one eye open.

Cuba’s giant land crab can outrun a horse.

A bald-eagle’s nest can weigh up to two tonnes.

When hibernating, a woodchuck only breathes 10 times an hour but when awake it breathes 2100 times an hour.

The rhinoceros has nostrils that are bigger than its brain.

The radiation from a ringing mobile phone can cook popcorn.

However, using your mobile phone at a petrol station isn't dangerous as a ringing phone doesn't create any sparks with which to ignite fuel.

I was always told that condoms were first made from pig's bladders.

Condoms are still used to protect rifle barrels from sand, water etc. by soldiers. (told that by close family member who used to be a para)

    Goats have condoms! (Sort of)

    .

The rhinoceros has nostrils that are bigger than its brain.

That gives a whole new meaning to "sniff it up, it makes brains".

    Step 1: Let a=b.
    Step 2: Then a^2 = ab (^2 = squared, ^3 would be cubed),
    Step 3: a^2 + a^2 = a^ + ab,
    Step 4: 2a^2 = a^2 + ab,
    Step 5: 2a^2 - 2ab = a^2 + ab - 2ab,
    Step 6: and 2a^2 - 2ab = a^2 - ab.

    Step 7: This can be written as 2(a^2 - ab) = 1(a^2 - ab),
Step 8: and cancelling the (a^2 - ab) from both sides gives 2=1.

    Step 1, a = b

there is one fallacious step in that algebra that I declined to mention earlier, try and spot it.:thumbup1:

lol. I remember seing this a few years ago at school; it's very cleverly done.
In essence, the last step is incorrect as you are dividing by zero, which is impossible.

Bottom line, this proof basically says "1 times 0 equals 2 times 0, therefore 1 equals 2". The fallacy is that just because two numbers give you the same answer (zero) after you multiply them each by zero, it doesn't necessarily mean that the two numbers are the same, because anything when multiplied by zero gives zero.

But if you can remember the steps it's a hell of a good one to wind up people who think they're good at algebra!

Fanta was developed in Nazi Germany (not necessarily by a Nazi) as a way of keeping the Coca-Cola bottling plants running when supplies of Coca-Cola syrup were disrupted during the war.
