    Yes it is recognised in Oz. Go for it. I spent Christmas and New Year there as my son living and working there. I would live there without a shot. Unfortunately bit too old.
    Not sure whether you would get extra points on visa app but worth a go. You can always come back if you dont like it there. Guarantee you will though.
