Tax Credits and Capital Gains

I have been trying to find some information on whether capital gains income is included in a working/child tax calculation. I am sure I have read somewhere that capital gains is not classed as income for the benefit of tax credits. Any comments welcome?

Capital gains aren't included. Can't quote chapter and verse but am pretty sure on this one.0
