I am waiting on F8 and am terrified. With everything else going on in my life it's just another stress I don't need:(
Why do they make us wait until the Monday. The papers have obviously been marked and results ready, just send the darn things out.0 -
There's much worse things that can happen in life than failing an exam. Counter productive pitting yourself under so much stress0

It will be Monday before you know it and unfortunately you can't change anything about it anymore now.
You seem very stressed lately and I am getting worried that if you focus so much on the things that worry you, that you might end up being ill from it.
Have you considered taking a step back to overview your life and decide what really is important to you. While you do that, it might also help to have a look at separate things and see what is going well and focus your energy on those things.
Being worried all the time cost a lot of energy and in the long run, it will only get you ill. When focussing on positive things, you might find yourself happier, but also less tired and sleeping better!
Happiness is still the one thing (almost) everyone strived to achieve and it's the one thing which makes live worth living!
One way you could try this out is to make a list of all things in your current life. Anything that is going on from friends, hobbies, study, kids, partner(s) and work and write it all down. Then list them in order of priorities for yourself. Not priorities in what takes up most time, but in what is more important to you and what makes you happy.
For example if you have kids, husband, study, work and friends, and find your kids more important than the rest, put those on top. If you find work the most important thing to give you happiness, put that one on top. Go through all things, decide what is most important to have and put that on the top and work your way down.
If you keep that list somewhere, even if it's just on your bedside cabinet, everytime you feel stressed about something, have a look at the list and check how high or low it is listed.
When it is very low, just think about the higher items and how they make you happy. Remember that it's not worth fretting too much about, as it is just a low priority.
If it is high, have a think of what you can do to take the worry away.
It sounds a bit dreamy and fat off, but remember, a smile a day keeps the doctor away!0 -

+1 To that, I completely agree.
Glynis, your health is worth more than ACCA and the stress you are putting yourself under.
I hope you manage to find a way to de-stress yourself

Thank you for the advices. It is quite a stressful time for me at the minute and Mondays results day is really not helping. I was offered a 6 month contract yesterday working for a loft conversion company which I have taken but I still want a job in practise to help me with my studies. I won't give up on my dreams but at least my money and job worries will be resolved for 6 months. I have always wanted to be a qualified accountant and will carry on with ACCA even if it kills me.0

Hi Glynis,
That is very good news about the job. The important thing is to keep positive! I am also a great believer in self-belief as well. Lots of people are very quick to ridicule and lots of people think they cannot do something, when they can. Hurdles are a part of life and we have to get over them to get to the finishing line!! If you believe you can get a job in practice, or can pass a particularly difficult exam or run a marathon, you can!
Keeping positive, even when things go wrong, does help - I learnt that last year when my niece was seriously ill, and it works!
Good luck for Monday,
Steve0 -
I'm pleased for you Glynis getting a new job, hope it goes well.0

Hi Glynis,
Good news on the job front, that will give you six months to look a bit more relaxed for a new job, rather than feeling pressured to finding anything. I hope it goes well!
(Plus who knows what the job market will be in six months time, maybe by then it will have picked up some more again, giving more opportunities).
Cheers,
Rinske0 -
Thank you for the posts. I am a bit more relaxed about the job but I am really stressed out about the results tomorrow. I can't eat or sleep and my husband is avoiding me like the plague.
Why can't the ACCA just release the results on the Friday instead of making us wait:( It's really not right.0 -

It really wouldn't make any difference Glynis. Waiting is always hard, if they came out on a Friday you'd be worrying the Monday beforehand. It's always really hard whenever the results come out!
Good luck and well done on the new job! Excellent news!

I think waiting for ACCA results is worse than when we were waiting for AAT. When I did my AAT the results came through about 6pm, so you had a day at work to take your mind off waiting, but with the ACCA it's different - I always wake up about 5am and check my emails!!
Good luck to everyone waiting for their results!0 -
What time do they usually send them?0
-
-
Sometimes the ACCA site often encounters difficulties in accessing your results, but if you click on this link it usually works!
Best of luck

I've managed to wait till now before checking my emails (didn't fancy waking up especially at 5am!) I've passed F5 and F8 :-) So pleased I don't need to re-sit F8, it was horrendous! Hope everyone else gets the results they are after.0
-
Not got my e-mails.
Websites down.
Not entierly bothered though, lol.0 -
Got my email just before 6am, but it said 5.01 on the details. So theres obviously delays.
Got a nice email saying I'm now an ACCA affiliate

Fabulous news well done, I've just signed on to find out how everybody did!0
-
Well done! That's two times good news already!0
-
Congrats to both of you.
I failed F8 and F7

Oh no AK002 can't believe you can't find out your results! I'm sure you'll know soon enough ...
Wow that's great news PGM very well done!
Thanks for your support Blue Wednesday and Rinske.
Oh no poor you Messed Up - F8 was horrendous though and I've heard F7 can be the hardest. Better luck next time.0 -
I failed F8 again. It was a stupidily horrendous paper , not even close to a pass

Congrats to the people who passed, results seem to be coming through slowly from the people I've spoken to.
And don't give up to the people who didn't, from past experience I know you can come back and be a better accountant from the extra work you have to put in.0 -
-
Gratz to those who passed and sorry if you didn't,
Remember there is always another sitting.0 -
Passed F5 but failed F4 by 2 marks!0

I got 21 which is worse than Decembers sitting. I am so angry it's untrue because I feel sure they design the exams so those who are home study people can't pass.0
