HMRC extend self-assessment deadline

For anyone who is still submitting tax returns (like me!) HMRC have issued a press release saying that they will not be issuing penalties for any tax returns submitted on 1 or 2 Feb, because the helpline staff are planning to strike on Tuesday 31 January.

    They do this every year and it winds me up. What the point of setting a deadline if you keep moving it?

    I will be finished for 31st Jan as that is the deadline!!!

    I wonder if we'd be granted the same extension of time if "we" went on strike too ... No? Didn't think so. Hello Monsoon - I always like following your posts.
