Direct Recovery of Debts (DRD) is HMRC's proposal around being able to remove funds from people's bank accounts if they feel they are owed tax.

AAT feels the consultation around this proposal has not been sufficiently thought through. You can read more about AAT's position in this article on AAT Comment.

We'd like to gather AAT members' thoughts regarding DRD and the consultation process around it, and we'd be grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete our Direct Recovery of Debts survey.

No, but then again I think all payments made to HMRC should be on Direct Debit. Would be a deterrent for companies that take it for granted & nobody would be in debt to HMRC!
