    £233400 difference then, I probably miscalculated something! I wasn't confident of all the figures, its the only exam I have done so far where I can see that I might not have got enough in the section. I'm working on the basis I will get some principal marks lol

    So the OP, it asked for opening stock and closing stock which you included for in your material purchase budget? Did this confuse anyone else? :S

    I got £1.09 for closing stock per unit

    materials 0.20 x 3kg = 0.60p

    labour - total labour cost / good production

    overheads - total overheads / good production

    cant remember figures for labour and overheads per unit

    anyone else do it like this?

    Materials = £0.60
    Labour = 20*12/1000 = £0.24
    Variable overheads = 2.40*20/1000 = £0.048
    Total = £0.888 * 250,000 = 222,000

    Was it for each saleable one?! *Bangs head on desk*

    I can't remember at all which amount of production I used. My memory is terrible for exams, I can't even remember what was asked for the emails!

    Section 1: Why 250,000 closing stock sucks basically and a strategy for quarter 3's ridiculous sales
    Section 2: Was the bonus scheme working... < You can't get that wrong as their is cases for both lol

    I though section 1 1.2 and 1.3 were hard but section 2 was starighforward (watch me fail on section 2, lol)

    Were the overhead just split over direct hours? or overtime too?

    Off to make myself busy for a while I think, the joy of not having to be stuck in a book tonight! I'll check back later I think to see what else crops up. I'm just glad its all over for now :)

    I'm sure it said overtime counted as direct hours. I used the total of 220,000. 202,400 were standard and 19,600 were overtime if I remember correctly.

    What did everyone do with the seasonal variation didn't know what to do?

    I used the 10,350,000/4

    That gave 2,587,500 units a quarter and then add or minus the seasonal variation in the table given.

    Quarter 3 was rediculously high as I added 1,500,000 onto the total ended up with massive overtime payment and hours at the end for quarter 3.

    In the variances one, did you take off the seasonal figure or add it on?

    Is that for the overtime hours as mine was the same I think?

    Recommended subcontracting in task 1.4 as I didnt think they would have enough capacity for the extra 1,500,000 sales.

    Which quarter? Quarter 3 was the only quarter in which you added a seasonal variation on :)

    Oooh I definitely got those labour hours, and yes I think overtime was included in direct labour not an overhead cost. I used 10350000 as well I think.

    Yep. And I recommended temporary staff, even worked out a saving for them if we paid them the same as the other staff :P

    Whatever the figures said in the table I did as it said take for example quarter 3

    I had 2,587,500 then added 1,500,000 onto it giving a revised figure of 4,087,500

    Hope this is right?

    I used the original data figures and not total cost/good production. One mistake shouldn't mean failure. I hope! :(

    This paper was defiantly longer than previous ones. I can do past papers in about 1 hour 30... this one took 2 hours 30 minutes.

    I struggled with it aswell Katie after 15 mins of just looking at it I did section 2 instead.

    It was the seasonal variations didnt know whether to do opposite like when it said
    +1,500,000 to deduct it as on PEV I think we did the opposite to get the trend.

    So I gambled hopefully choose right.

    What a load of rubbish I say that wernt in my books.
