my uncle was born on the 29th feb long long ago and my daughter being as blond as she is, thought my uncle was only about 16 and she wanted to add him on facebook her her "cool" uncle as he was still 16
she was disheartened to learn that he still aged like the rest of us

Not even getting a little here in North London!
Its amazing difference the sun can make on people's moods!0 -
It's quiet in here today.

Got a real conumdrum here:
Won an iPod Nano last week at our work conference.
Do I:
A) Swallow my anti-Apple pride and try the thing out?
b) E-bay it immediately and remain true to my 'Steve Jobs is a sherman' principles?0 -
Do you have a need to listen to music whilst travelling/exercising?
They are the only reasons I have an iPod.0 -
Robert, just try it.
I was all anti-apple-overpriced-gadget-blah-blah-notnecessary-don'twantone until my other half bought me an iPad. I love it. I concede, Apple are ok.
If you don't like it, Ebay it, you've lost nothing.
Oh and ladies? Share the malteesers please!!0 -
Okay, tried it out and while it's "cute"... seriously, Apple are having a laugh charging £130 for the thing.
Volume is too low, the audio quality isn't great and overall it does much less than my £45 Samsung R1 which I purchased at Christmas as a clearance item. Probably paying about £60 quid solely for the branding on this one. Sorry Apple fans, while I can appreciate the iPod Touch is a seriously cool toy I did give the Nano a try and found it very average in performance and way over priced for what it delivers!
Plus... they didn't build an 'Off' switch into it, only fixing it with revised firmware once they saw there was an internet fury developing. Bizarre.0 -
See, now you can slag it off justifiably. And flog it on Ebay. Win win.0

So how is everyone's day at work this Friday?
I could definitely do with a good shoulder/ back massage at the moment!
(Mainly I've been sitting properly, but my chair is just too low for my desk and I haven't gotten a new one yet... It's not so bad most of the time, but days like this, where I just throw a lot of data on the system, I do really notice it.)0 -
Get up and have a walk around! Remember not to look at that computer screen for too long!!
My Friday is the same as usual- Enjoyable but envious of those outside in the sunshine! Upside- I get to finish early on Fridays woohoo!
x0 -
Ooh, I'm jealous on you now! I want to finish early too!
We got the windows open and it feels like our metal box (the office) is getting some sunshine, so I would like to be outside, hopefully there is some post to bring away around 3 o'clock and I can just take a detour to bring the post to our postroom. Before that, I'll just be stuck in the office, so I might just go and get myself another cup of tea, that gives me some time to look outside at least!0 -
I'm finishing early today too! (soon in fact!) The Joys of flexi time
My chief bridesmaid is treating me later to some quality girly time incorporating a spa and afternoon tea, she knows how to distract me from the stresses of an impending wedding and studying, combined with the dreaded unit 100 -
Has anyone read page 29 of the latest PQ magazine?
Apparently HMRC has a challenge from the European Court of Justice regarding VAT charged on hot food supplied by a "Take-away", i'e a place that does NOt provide facilities to sit in and eat your food. Stand by for a long drawn out court case by HMRC to try and avoid all the claims for overpaid VAT that are going to start winging their way to the local VAT offices!0 -
