71% - I had a very kind examiner! I couldn't be happier - so sorry to those who haven't quite made it. And yes, I would say that the exam was horrendous!!!!! Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Me too! I want them to email and confirm it though I'm still scared I'm actually dreaming!0 -
Sorry to hear that tinkerbell, are you really going to give up now though?tinkerbell0406 said:66% ☹
Without wanting to rub salt in the wound, there quite a few forum members who have passed - I'm sure if you advise us which tasks are letting you down, there must be enough people here who have done well on at least one of those tasks that collectively we can advise you on how to improve . Sounds like someone needs to fill in the blanks your training provider has left behind. Also I agree with 00783, don't let that advice put you off - I've never seen age or even qualifications as being a definite barrier (I'm only now studying AAT - I've been in accountancy for a decade without qualifications haha) so don't give up hope if this is what you want to do!1 -
67% ?0

75%, I'll take that! Finally fully qualified! :-)3

67% - absolute disgrace this exam
seriously how are people getting in the 80's on this??
i am 4 exams into my ACA professional exams now and yet still cant get this passed?!1 -
Got my results back and I achieved 72%. I am not sure how i passed it but the relief is massive and im so glad i haven't got this exam to worry about anymore. Sorry to hear of the few that haven't passed but don't give up, life always throws situations like this at you and it will only make you a better accountant for it when you do pass. I would say try and nail tasks 2 and 4. Revise, revise and revise even more about relevant decisions, different costing methods and constantly go back to your MABU and MDCL revisions notes. This is what i done as i felt confident in Tasks 1,3,5 and 6. I found that 2 and 4 were the hardest. Get an understanding of SWOT analysis too. Not many left for me now looking forward to getting it finished.1

Hi All.
Congratulations to everyone that passed! I'm sitting my Synoptic in 2 weeks, does anyone have any tips or revision pointers? I just don't know what to focus my revision time on as this will be my first sitting.
Thanks in advance!0 -
Failed synoptic 53%
Failed decision and control 69%
Failed financial statements 59%
Feel like giving up0 -
Oh thank you. No bad feeling here well done all that have passed. I seem to be nearly there but I just need some feedback really. I passed budgeting and reviewed it be for exam but got significantly below!!! Passed level 3 easy but then only had 10 weeks tuition on level four. I have passed budgeting, external Audi and credit control with tuition. Everything else I'm fighting with. I have asked to see my curriculum lead next week. If we can come up with a plan then I will finish otherwise it's the end of the road....but I was very close.ArnoldGrove said:

Just passed this exam at the second attempt. For those that are struggling keep going. I know we are all different however in addition to AAT resources for me the Kaplan hard (Course Book, Pocket Notes & Exam Kit Book) and online soft resources provided were first rate compared to everything else (I did use BPP/Osborne as extra resource though). If you register with MyKaplan and activate the two books tucked away here are some great resources including progress tests, mocks and the Exam Kit Resit is useful too. All this this enabled me to pass, wish I had found Kaplan the first time. If you are doing the tax modules best to have a good look at the resources for the other options including Audit as they are more relevant to the Synoptic. You have to nail task 1 and 5 to give one a chance of success. Only other advice would be to have the pocket notes, exam kit and pre seen with you at all times to dive into, also save large chunks of leave and use this just before the exam date. P.S don’t forget to keep any books up to date with the latest publishers book corrections that are available online. Good luck!1

For those sitting the synoptic I heavily used Kaplan (Study Text, Exam Kit & Pocket Notes) to pass as they did a much better job at bringing everything together in one place. BPP and Osborne are useful resources for extra knowledge. The MyKaplan online resources include progress tests mock exams (these can be activated on purchase of their books) and were brilliant. The mock exams kit is based on GPL along with the Online Exam Kit Resit this puts you in the world of ink cartridges. If you are struggling go and visit an ink cartridge shop and apply the knowledge from the books to what you see. Wish BPP had produced one book and pass cards with everything in like Kaplan has done would have been so much better. Keep going all of you yet to pass.1

Those of you that got your results on Friday for the Professional Synoptic, were you shocked by how badly you did?
I thoroughly studied the material and came out convinced that, not only did I pass, that I would be headed for a distinction.
I wrote until the last minute. I knew everything. I had done 5 mock exams and passed. I ended up with 67%. I do not understand how that is possible. My first reaction was 'they have given me someone else's score'!0 -
If I'm honest I thought the general feeling was that on the whole people found the exam extremely tricky and didn't expect much out of it, but were pleasantly surprised when they passed. I came out feeling horrendous and managed to scrape a 71% pass - and I'm not sure how. I thought the resources were terrible and the direction given very vague.
My advice would be to pick it straight back up and book your re sit - you're obviously not far off passing at all so there'll just be a few things to tweak. Look at your feedback report to see which areas you fell short on.
Sorry to hear you didn't pass but keep going.0 -
I am completely with you on this. I was mortified when I saw that I got 66%.
I study with BPP and completed every single question, mock and BPP steps. I even completed the two mocks that we have to send in to be marked by someone and got 86% and 99%!!! 99/100, that is not a typo.
I came out of the exam feeling confident that I had done well. I have no idea what has happened. Are you going to appeal? I think that we all should as I have seen and spoke to a lot of people that are in the same boat as us0 -
